He will tell you the weak point before the other side does, and he treats deadlines as part of the service.

Outside work he enjoys the gym for strength training, plays five-a-side football and squash when he can, and does not mind a sauna to end the week. He also mentors young people.

Zia Yasin

Sadaf Tariq

Waseem Ahmed

Outside work he is in the gym, out with friends, or travelling. He is also known for cheesy jokes — the sort that should not work, and somehow do.

Mariam Ashfaq

Nine years in conveyancing has taught Mrs Ashfaq that a “standard” transaction rarely feels standard to the person buying, selling or taking a lease. Her job is to keep the legal work tight, flag the problems early, and get the deal completed without drama. She acts on residential sales and purchases, commercial property and lease transactions. She is used to tight chains, awkward titles, lease clauses that need real attention, and clients who want a straight answer rather than a long email. If something will delay completion, she says so.

Away from the file she travels whenever she can, protects time with her family, and has properly mastered crochet.

Ridwaan Haaris

Steve Cornforth

Mr Cornforth has spent more than 40 years in housing disrepair and clinical negligence. He started at Vauxhall Law Centre, at the sharp end of housing conditions and social welfare law, and later became a leading litigator and partner in a Liverpool firm. He held Higher Courts advocacy rights, sat on the AvMA referral panel and is a Fellow of APIL. He was Legal Entrepreneur of the Year in 2015, shortlisted for the Outstanding Contribution to Access to Justice Award (LawWorks) in 2018, and served as President of Liverpool Law Society. He was also a Trainee Solicitor Conciliation Officer for the Society and sat on the LJMU Law School Advisory Board. He writes a weekly housing-law update and is the person other housing lawyers call when the procedure gets awkward. He speaks French.
